Hyper-V is a type 1 hypervisor that manages operating systems by running directly on a computer’s hardware. Hyper-V and Oracle VM VirtualBox are both server virtualization products designed to run virtual machines. Oracle VM VirtualBox detects Hyper-V automatically and uses Hyper-V as the virtualization engine for the host system. Oracle VM VirtualBox can be used on a Windows host where Hyper-V is running.
